Our client is a thriving software company on the San Francisco Peninsula/Silicon Valley and is looking for a highly creative copywriter with proven ability to conceptualize and write expressive, engaging content for a broad range of marketing materials.
The Marketing Writer will play a key role in establishing and communicating a consistent, compelling, brand-appropriate voice for this global company by developing and maintaining the corporate editorial style guide. This position will be responsible for a ‘ton of writing’ and at the same time will be the ‘cop’ in overseeing all corporate writing to insure consistency and quality.
Responsibilities:
· Write and/or edit copy for print and online materials including: brochures, data sheets, website content, direct marketing, advertising, newsletters, articles, presentations, sales letters, etc.
· Develop and maintain the corporate editorial style guide, and drive adherence to these standards across the company and geographical regions.
· Support the creative development of other marketing materials including audio and video projects, forum postings, blogs, etc.
· Brainstorm with cross-functional teams, interview subject matter experts, conduct research, and gather information from other sources as needed to develop content.
· Collaborate with the design team to ensure that the layout of copy is optimized to visually communicate the message.
· Manage the document review process efficiently and effectively.
· Help develop and maintain comprehensive company and product messaging in conjunction with corporate and product marketing, and drive consistent use worldwide for all communications
· Provide editorial direction and/or writing services for the in-house projects of other departments.

· B.A. ideally in English, Journalism, Communications or related field.
· A minimum of 4 years of experience writing and editing in a high tech corporate environment.
· Excellent communication and grammar skills, copyediting and proofreading expertise.
· Able to articulate concepts in creative, business, and editorial style writing.
· Sharp attention to detail and quality.
· Proven teamwork skills and flexibility.
· Portfolio of diverse writing projects required.
This position will begin as a contract and then convert into a permanent position if both parties agree. Hourly rate as a contractor will be $48 per hour on a W2 basis, full time annual salary is expected between $80,000 and $100,000 plus benefits.
